Located close to the quayside in the centre of Appledore. There is much to see and do to suit all ages and tastes including The Big Sheep and The Milky Way which offer fantastic indoor and outdoor facilities. Other interesting places to visit are Clovelly, a unique cliff-side village with steep, stepped, cobbled streets leading to a pretty harbour, RHS Rosemoor Gardens or Dartington Crystal where you can watch glass being blown or browse around their sparkling showroom. The 2 miles of golden, sandy beach at Westward Ho! is a 5 minute drive away and is perfect for surfing, body boarding or exploring the rock pools at low tide. Other activities such as riding, golf, swimming, tennis and cliff-top walks are all close by. In the evenings enjoy Appledore's famous hospitality with a wide range of traditional pubs serving good food. For those who just want to relax, why not stay closer to home and explore the quaint, cobbled streets of Appledore, watch the boats out on the estuary or just sit on the quayside and enjoy the local delicacy a locally made Hockings ice cream. The accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: 1 king-size with scenic views across the estuary, 2 easy chairs and TV. 1 cosy room with river glimpses, 4' double bed with 3' single bed over, perfect for 2 but can sleep 3 if requested at time of booking. Bathroom: with electric shower over bath and WC. The first floor is accessed by steep cottage stairs. Lounge: downstairs with feature Victorian tiled fireplace, sofa and 2 leather easy chairs, 40" flatscreen TV with Freeview and DVD. Dining room: with feature fireplace, flatscreen TV with Freeview, DVD, hi-fi, PlayStation2 with games, 2 seater sofa, table and chairs, Kitchen: modern and well-equipped with electric oven, gas hob with hood over, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer. Outside: a sunny, south-facing, sheltered garden with raised flower bed, external lighting, garden furniture and outside storage for bikes and surfboards. Amenities: roadside parking. Bed linen, towels (not beach towels), electric, central heating and wi-fi included. Regret no pets or smoking. Location: beach at Westward Ho! 2 miles, pubs, restaurants and shops all within easy walking distance.

The small port of Bideford in north Devon, England, is located on the River Torridge opposite East-of-the-Water. A perfect location for staying at if you wish to explore the north Devon coast, Bideford is not far from Northam, Abbotsham, Westward Ho!, Appledore, and Monkleigh. The nearest main cities are Plymouth (population 243,795), Exeter (population 106,772), and Truro (which has a population of 20,920 according to the 2001 Census).
By the 16th century Bideford had become the third largest port in England, although its importance is far less these day. It is famed for the 'Long Bridge' which crosses the river and which dates right back to the 15th century.
Bideford is easily accessibly by road, being located on the A39 coastal road, and offers much for the holidaymaker wishing to explore this part of Devon.
